On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Nungua was buzzing with activity as over 600 residents from the Krowor constituency received essential medical care. The outreach, organised by Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey in partnership with the Christian Medical Missions Resources Foundation (CMRF), was a huge success.
The event offered a wide range of healthcare services. These included general medical consultations, dental treatments, eye care, and the distribution of free eyeglasses, medications, vaccinations, and dental procedures. In addition to the physical care, the outreach also provided counselling and spiritual support, reinforcing the holistic approach to well-being that considers both the body and soul.
A total of 510 people registered for general consultations. The dental clinic provided 74 treatments. The eye clinic offered 113 services. Counselling was provided to 312 individuals, with 14 saved. Thirty (30) CMRF members were involved in the outreach.
Hon. Dr. Lartey, a former administrator of CMRF, emphasised that this medical outreach is part of her ongoing efforts to improve healthcare within the constituency. In her address, she highlighted the progress made on the Nungua Polyclinic Phase II, with roofing now completed. This facility, once finished, is expected to greatly enhance healthcare services in the area. Additionally, a new CHPS Zone is being developed in Baatsonaa to extend critical healthcare services to underserved communities.
To further support healthcare access, Hon. Dr. Lartey has also launched free NHIS registration drives across Krowor, making healthcare more affordable for residents.
Hon. Dr. Lartey expressed sincere gratitude to the medical professionals, volunteers, and community leaders whose hard work made the outreach possible. She thanked them for their generosity, which has greatly impacted the lives of those in the Krowor constituency.
